Lack of libido is a problem that all males face in some part of their lives. Low level of sexual desire can create a lot of problems, both physical as well as psychological. Physical problems include erectile dysfunction, which is a problem that can question man’s masculinity.
Male Libido Facts:
Libido is a natural drive. It is a biological way of enticing man into finding females to mate with and ensures continuity of the species. Libido makes a man try and get himself inside a woman and pass on his genes through his sperm. This is a part of man’s genetic makeup, and no amount of a civilizing influence is likely to get man to change.
Libido is not always present in the male. Sometimes it is not present, and this is known as asexuality. Asexuality affects about 1% of all humans. Sometimes asexuality means lack of sexual orientation as well.
Male libido is far more powerful than the female libido. If their bodies allowed it, males would have sex every day or even more frequently. Women, on the other hand, are perfectly content to have sex much less frequently, though their libido does act up during the period when they are most fertile, that is during ovulation.
The libido in males is so strong that, according to some recent research, most males are obsessed with sex and spend a major part of their day thinking about it.
The powerful influence of male libido is, apparently, not restricted to the vagina. The instinct to penetrate is so strong in men that they will even penetrate the anus if given a chance. This is why some men like to have anal sex regularly.
Psychological factors like stress take their toll on the male libido. The likely consequence of stress and other related factors is reduction in male libido. Sometimes male libido can vanish altogether. High alcohol intake, excessive smoking and lack of exercise also affect sexual desire. Regular and excessive masturbation also reduces the male libido.
Lack of sexual desire can be treated. There are various ways in which this can be done. Psychotherapy and counseling therapy are some of the most popular ways for the treatment of low male libido. These therapies try to remove any inhibitions a man may have about sex. Also, the man is given medications to cure him of any psychological problems he may be suffering from. There are many other products available in the market that treat low libido.
Pills, erection patches, oils, pheromone spray’s and many other products are popular. Regular exercising and diet control can also help prop up a flagging libido.
A strong libido is the key for great health, a strong relationship and happiness in life.
